Naira crashes to N1,620/$ in parallel market
The naira weakened slightly in the parallel market yesterday, falling to N1,620 per dollar from N1,618 on Tuesday.
However, it appreciated in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), strengthening to N1,599 per dollar.
According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the indicative exchange rate for the naira improved to N1,599 per dollar, up from N1,604 on Tuesday, reflecting a N5 gain.
As a result, the gap between the parallel market and the NFEM rate widened to N21 per dollar, compared to N14 the previous day.
