Napoli have stripped Victor Osimhen of the No. 9 shirt following his failed move to Chelsea.
The No. 9 shirt will now be worn by Romelu Lukaku for the season. Lukaku was signed by Napoli to replace Osimhen, with the expectation that Osimhen would transfer to Chelsea. However, with Osimhen’s future uncertain, Napoli has decided to remove him from their plans.
In addition, Osimhen has been omitted from Napoli’s official Serie A squad.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared the news on X: “Victor Osimhen has been excluded from Napoli’s Serie A squad list… and the No. 9 shirt will NO longer be his. Napoli have decided to give the No. 9 to Romelu Lukaku with immediate effect.”
