The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has summoned controversial entertainer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, following disturbing comments he made during a recent Instagram Live session.

In the viral broadcast, the singer claimed to have had a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl—an admission that sparked outrage across social media and prompted immediate calls for investigation.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) formally reported the matter to NAPTIP, urging swift action and a thorough probe into the alleged misconduct.

In response to the backlash, Speed Darlington released a follow-up video, claiming the statement was part of a promotional stunt for an upcoming song. He apologized for any offence or distress his comments may have caused.

However, NAPTIP, in a statement issued on Thursday, confirmed it has officially summoned the artist for questioning. The agency warned that failure to comply could result in legal consequences.

“NAPTIP remains fully committed to protecting the rights of minors and will pursue justice in all instances of alleged sexual abuse or exploitation,” the statement read.
