The National Broadcasting Commission has no functional website, checks by IDOMA VOICE have shown.

NBC is the broadcast regulator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The commission was set up on August 24, 1992, by Decree 38 of 1992 later amended as an act of the National Assembly by Act 55 of 1999 and now known as National Broadcasting Commission Laws of the Federation 2004, CAP N11 to among other responsibilities, regulate and control the broadcasting industry in Nigeria.

The commission in its advisory capacity to the federal government regularly adopts scientific research methods to gather data, analyze trends in line with the dynamism of the industry and advise the government accordingly.

The commission is headed by Mallam Balarabe Shehu as its Director General under the supervision of the Ministry of Information and Culture headed by Lai Mohammed.

However, the agency has no functional web portal, as checked by IDOMA VOICE on Friday August 19, 2022 have shown.

A visit to the official website of NBC http://www.nbc.gov.ng/ showed the web page is not loading.

A message of: “500. Whoops, something went wrong on our servers. GO HOME. welcomes users to the site.

This is despite the millions of naira being budgeted yearly for the maintenance of its website.
Checks by our reporter showed that other social media pages of the agency are active except the website.
