The Kaduna State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has confiscated 1,045.93 kilograms of various illicit substances and arrested 420 suspects in the third quarter of the year.
Agency Commander Mr. Samaila Danmalam announced these figures on Thursday in Kaduna, highlighting the command’s ongoing efforts against drug trafficking.
During this period, the command apprehended a total of 420 individuals, consisting of 404 males and 16 females. This number includes drug dealers, users, and traffickers.
The seized illicit substances comprised cocaine, cannabis sativa, Rohypnol, tramadol, methamphetamine, and other psychotropic drugs, collectively weighing 1,045.93 kilograms. Additionally, the command confiscated 1,393 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and four locally made firearms during various operations.
Danmalam stated that the command secured the conviction of 30 drug offenders and charged 54 suspects, while investigations into other cases are still ongoing. He urged the public to provide timely and useful information to facilitate quick responses and proactive measures in the fight against drug trafficking.
