The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) reported that two crew members aboard a helicopter that crashed on Oba Akran Road, Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday afternoon have been successfully rescued.
Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, Territorial Coordinator of NEMA, confirmed the incident to reporters in Lagos. He stated that the occupants of the helicopter were the two crew members, and further information on the incident would be provided by responders.
The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) had previously confirmed the helicopter crash into a building. Mr. Tunji Oketumbi, Public Affairs General Manager of NSIB, confirmed the accident in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
According to eyewitness accounts, the crash occurred around 3:30 pm.
