The renowned afrobeat sensation, Davido, has stirred up conversations by unveiling the hefty price tag attached to his live performances.
In an interview with Zahir Jooma, co-owner of the jewelry store Icebox, Davido openly discussed his monthly show schedule and the fee for booking him at an event. The viral video has taken the internet by storm.
Davido disclosed, “I currently charge $600,000 for a single show. Actually, it’s lower now because not as many people can afford it. I typically do three to four shows each month, which amounts to $2 million to $3 million.”
This revelation has prompted a flurry of reactions from netizens:
b_josh007: “Even Jesus would perform weddings for free and still turn water into wine.”
horlar_mhoney: “There’s big money in this music business; I just heard someone say Ronaldo could buy a pet as a side hustle.”
zaza mula11: “Davido’s vocal prowess is unmatched; he’s swimming in wealth.”
koko_btc0: “Now I understand why Davido is reluctant to perform in Benin; who can afford that kind of fee?”
swagboy_nikky: “No worries, OBO, there are DJs who can play all your songs at my event, and they’ll even throw in Wizkid, Asake, and more for just 50k.”
