The new Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad, will today Saturday January 26th, 2019 swear in members of the National Assembly, governorship and state assembly election petition tribunals.
The election petition tribunals will be expected to handle disagreements that may arise from the conduct of the forthcoming general elections, which begin in three weeks.
The substantive CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, who is facing charges of corruption before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, was billed to perform that task before he was suspended on Friday.
It was gathered that the inauguration of the tribunal will take place as planned but to be officiated by the Acting CJN, Justice Mohammed.
