The position became vacant following the journey of HRM Elias Ikoyi Obekpa to his ancestral home.
The Benue State Government had announced that a new king will be appointed today.
Earlier, Benue South stakeholders have zoned the stool to Apa/Agatu area.
Prominent among those nominated for the traditional seat are: Prof. Armstrong Adejo, Arc. Sonny Echono, among others.

SELECTION OF A NEW OCH’ IDOMA
Special Adviser to the Governor, Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Ken Achabo Esq., arrives Otukpo, Otukpo Local Government Area to witness proceedings for the selection of new Paramount Ruler for the Idoma nation to replace HRH Elias Okoyi Obekpa, Och’Idoma IV who is currently on a hunting expedition, and shall not return.
