Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala backs Tinubu, says he loves Nigeria

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), has commended President Bola Tinubu for his dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians. Speaking after a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Okonjo-Iweala reiterated her commitment to supporting Nigeria during these challenging times.

Joined by former Minister of State for Health under Goodluck Jonathan, Mohammed Ali Pate, Okonjo-Iweala revealed that the meeting focused on avenues to bolster the country’s well-being. Both officials discussed plans to initiate grassroots programs aimed at assisting young people and women.

The Director-General of WTO acknowledged the importance of addressing key sectors such as agriculture, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. She emphasized the organization’s dedication to fostering digital trade, thereby generating more employment opportunities for the citizens.

Okonjo-Iweala noted that the conversation was centered around providing immediate relief to Nigerians who are currently facing difficulties due to various challenges. The meeting addressed strategies to uplift women, children, and vulnerable segments of society, who have borne the brunt of prevailing hardships.

Furthermore, Okonjo-Iweala elaborated on ongoing efforts by WTO to collaborate with Nigerian women entrepreneurs, particularly those operating small and medium enterprises. The organization aims to enhance the quality of their products, enabling them to engage in international trade more effectively.

Dr. Ali Pate, in concurrence with the discussion’s focus, highlighted President Tinubu’s awareness of the challenges the populace is enduring. He emphasized that the President is committed to ameliorating these issues by creating investment opportunities, particularly to bolster the economy for sustainable growth.

Pate expressed optimism, stating that the difficulties the nation currently faces are transitory and that President Tinubu’s vision and commitment to transformative policies, particularly in the health sector, would contribute to Nigeria’s resurgence.
