Danlami Abdullahi Saku, the Chairman of Katcha Local Government Area in Niger State, has reportedly died following a tragic road accident.
According to reports obtained by Naija News on Wednesday, two other individuals in the vehicle sustained varying degrees of injuries in the incident.
The accident occurred on Tuesday evening near Kwakuti village along the Minna-Suleja road while Saku was en route to Abuja for an event, accompanied by two passengers.
Muazu Hamidu Jantabo, the State’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, confirmed the news in an official statement released Wednesday morning.
“It is with deep sadness but total submission to the will of Allah that I, on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, send my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and people of Katcha Local Government Area over the sudden and tragic loss of the Chairman, Hon. Danlami Abdullahi Saku,” Jantabo stated.
He continued, “The shocking news of his passing in a motor accident along the Minna-Abuja road on December 10, 2024, is a great loss not only to his loved ones but to the entire state. Hon. Saku was a committed leader whose dedication and service to the development of Katcha Local Government will be remembered for years to come.”
