Nigeria 2 Ghana 1: Super Eagles defeat Black Starsin Marrakech friendly

Nigeria secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ghana in a friendly clash held in Marrakech, Morocco, on Friday evening.

These two West African powerhouses seized the opportunity presented by the FIFA international break to test each other’s prowess on the field.

The Super Eagles asserted their dominance early on, culminating in a goal by Cyril Dessers, who coolly converted a penalty in the 38th minute.

Despite their early lead, Nigeria, under the guidance of coach Finidi George, struggled to capitalize on numerous chances, with Dessers and Kelechi Iheanacho missing notable opportunities.

However, the tide turned in the second half when Alex Iwobi expertly set up Ademola Lookman in the box, resulting in a thunderous second goal. With time winding down, Jordan Ayew managed to pull one back for Ghana in the closing stages.

Next up for the Eagles is a friendly against Mali in just four days’ time.
