Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, has urged Nigerians to uphold the virtues of sincerity, justice and fairness and reject impunity, to realise her full potentials as a prosperous nation and giant of Africa.
This is contained in a press statement on Thursday signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr Terver Akase and made available to the News Agency of Nigeira (NAN) in Makurdi.
Ortom also admonished Nigerians to sustain their faith in the unity and capacity of the country to overcome the current security and economic challenges.
He said what the nation needed at this time were people of honour and integrity who could stand for the rule of law and promote values as well as the dream of the nation’s founding fathers.
He said God had over the years. guided Nigeria out of challenges and threats to her corporate existence, and expressed optimism that the same God would continue to steer the ship of the country away from doom.
He stated that only sustained synergy between the federal government and states, as well as other stakeholders could lead to victory against terrorism and other criminal acts in some parts of the country.
The governor reaffirmed the commitment of the Benue government to addressing developmental challenges of the state by making the agriculture value chain a priority so as to engage young people in productive ventures.
He thanked Benue people for the support given to his administration in the last five years and pledged to “reciprocate the goodwill with impressive performance as he is already doing.”
Ortom said his administration would sustain the tempo of providing developmental projects in all parts of the state.
