Nigeria Police recruitment 2023: 10 things you need to know before you apply

10 Important Points for Applying to the Nigerian Police Force:

The Police Service Commission, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, has officially commenced the recruitment process for interested and qualified Nigerians to join the force as constables (recruits).

Here are essential details you need to know before applying:

1. Nationality:

  • Applicants must be of Nigerian origin by birth.

2. National Identification Number (NIN):

  • Applicants must possess a National Identification Number (NIN).

3. Educational Qualifications:

  • Possess a minimum of four credits in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/SSCE or its equivalent, with at least a credit in English and Mathematics.

4. Age Requirement:

  • Applicants’ age must be between 18-25 years old.
  • They must meet specific height criteria: not less than 1.67m tall for males and 1.64m tall for females.

5. Physical and Health Criteria:

  • Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit for the role.

6. Pregnancy and Health (Female Applicants):

  • Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of entry.

7. Contact Information:

  • Applicants should have a valid email address and phone number.

8. Academic Documents:

  • Upload your O’level results, Birth Certificate, and Certificate of Origin during the application process.

9. Application Period:

  • The online application portal will be open for six weeks, from October 15 to November 26, 2023.

10. Screening Process:

  • The invitation for the screening exercise will be extended only to those who meet the online registration requirements.
  • The automated physical screening exercise will be conducted nationwide on a date to be communicated later.

How to Apply:

  • Visit www.apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng and complete the online application form, providing your NIN, email, and phone number.
  • Upload the necessary documents (O’level results, Birth Certificate, and Certificate of Origin).
  • Print the completed online form and guarantor form to submit during the physical or credential screening exercise.
