Nigeria vs Australia: Okonjo-Iweala backs Super Falcons for victory in WWC

Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has rallied the Super Falcons of Nigeria ahead of their crucial Group B encounter against Australia in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Following the team’s impressive performance in their hard-fought draw against Canada in their opening match, the former Nigerian finance minister sent her best wishes to the Falcons as they prepare to take on the tournament co-hosts, Australia, on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

In a tweet, Okonjo-Iweala applauded the team’s incredible effort against Canada and urged them to maintain their determination and focus for the upcoming matchup against Australia.

The Super Falcons displayed tenacity and resilience in their goalless draw with Canada, with goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozi making a pivotal penalty save to deny their opponents all three points.
