Nigeria vs Gabon: Jerome Akor, Osimhen start as Chelle Names Super Eagles Starting XI for World Cup Playoff
Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has announced his starting lineup for tonight’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash against Gabon.
As expected, Stanley Nwabali retains his place in goal.
The defensive setup features Bright Osayi-Samuel and Zaidu Sanusi as full-backs, while Calvin Bassey partners young defender Benjamin Fredrick in central defence.
In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi, who captains the team, will anchor play alongside Alex Iwobi, who is set to make his 90th appearance for Nigeria.
Up front, the trio of Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, and Jerome Akor will provide attacking support for star striker Victor Osimhen.
