Today, the Super Eagles of Nigeria step onto the grand stage to battle the Atlas Lions of Morocco for a place in the final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, IDOMA VOICE reports.

It will be a daunting test for the West African giants, who must face the host nation in front of a passionate home crowd and thousands of Moroccan supporters.

Many football observers have described Nigeria’s task as herculean, given the atmosphere and the quality of the opposition.

However, the Super Eagles arrive full of confidence. They have not lost a single match since the start of the tournament and have delivered a series of impressive performances that underline their hunger for glory.

Today’s encounter is more than just a match; it is a fight for a final ticket and a chance to etch another chapter in Nigeria’s football history.

Beyond the team effort, special attention will be on three players from Benue State who will be playing for pride, honour and legacy. Moses Simon from Agatu, Akor Adams from Ogbadibo and Igoh Ogbu from Oju are all set to feature for Nigeria.

Remarkably, this is the first time in Nigeria’s history that three players from the Idoma community are featuring together in the same AFCON tournament, a moment of immense pride for the people of Benue and the Idoma nation.

Akor Adams, the sharp and articulate forward, has already announced himself on the continental stage.

With two goals and one assist to his name, he has been one of Nigeria’s standout performers., IDOMA VOICE.

His stunning goal against Algeria drew worldwide admiration and further cemented his growing reputation.

Currently plying his trade with Sevilla in Spain, Akor recently expressed gratitude to fans across the world and back home in Odoba, Otukpa Local Government Area, while speaking in his native Idoma language during an interview.

Moses Simon, the experienced winger, remains one of the Super Eagles’ most reliable weapons.

Having served the national team for several years and occasionally wearing the armband as assistant captain, Simon is known for his pace, creativity, and ability to torment defenders from the flanks.

Whether starting or coming off the bench, his impact is often decisive.

Igoh Ogbu, the solid centre back who plays for Slavia Prague, recently made his debut for the national team.

He came on from the bench during Nigeria’s victory against Algeria.

His calm presence and defensive awareness have earned praise from football analysts, with many tipping him as one for the future.

As Nigeria takes on Morocco today, millions of fans will be watching, but for the Idoma people, it is more than just football. It is a moment of representation, pride, and history in the making.

All eyes will be on the three Idoma brothers as they carry the hopes of a nation and make their community proud on Africa’s biggest football stage, IDOMA VOICE
