Nigeria vs Tunisia: Carthage Eagles hold Super Eagles to 1-1 draw in international friendly

Updated

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday night, failed to fly above the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia as they were forced to a 1-1 draw by the North African side.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s nice finishing put Nigeria in an early lead, but the West African side failed to consolidate on the lead as Iheanacho missed the penalty Penalty that was awarded to the Super Eagles after Captain, Musa was felled in the box by the Tunisian Goalkeeper, Ben Mustapha who gets a yellow card for his troubles.

The Tunisians leveled up in just two minutes to the end of the first half with

Drajer Mohammed’s goal for the Carthage Eagles.

Both teams failed to produced a goal in the second half.

A very good, competitive friendly game ends at the Jacques Lemans Arena in An Der Glan, Austria.

While it is no doubt a good game for Tunisia who lost to the Super Eagles in the third place match of the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, it is not so impressive for Nigeria who lost to another North African side, Algeria barely four days ago.

The Gernot Rohr’s men will now prepare for their African Cup of Nations Qualifiers in November.
