The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) reportedly carried out a successful airstrike, eliminating 22 terrorists loyal to the late bandits’ kingpin, Alhaji Abdulkareen Lawal, also known as Abdulkareen Boss. The airstrike took place in the Batsari and Jibia Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Katsina State.
It can be recalled that just a few weeks ago, NAF airstrikes dealt a fatal blow to Abdulkareem Boss and some of his followers at Ruga Forest in Katsina State. Abdulkareem Boss was allegedly involved in orchestrating the killing of the Police Area Commander of Dutsin-ma on July 5, 2022, as well as several other heinous crimes.
The recent NAF strikes, conducted by the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), were the result of credible intelligence suggesting the terrorists’ involvement in numerous abductions and violent attacks on communities within Kankara LGA of the state.
According to a reliable source, the air component of OPHD meticulously planned and coordinated waves of air interdiction missions, which proved highly effective in neutralizing several terrorists. The strikes also resulted in the destruction of their structures and hideouts, significantly crippling their operations.
NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, confirmed the successful operation; however, he refrained from providing further details at this time.
