The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, has lauded troops of the Nigerian Army for their bravery and selflessness.
Senator Moro who is the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, stated this on Wednesday during an oversight visit of the Committee to the headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, the Borno State’s capital. The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Ali Ndume, was in Maiduguri to assess the efforts of the Army in the fight against terrorism.
Senator Moro praised the courage and strength of the soldiers, and thanked them for the sacrifices they are making for the country. He urged them to keep up the zeal and determination so that Borno and, indeed, Nigeria can be safe for all.
Speaking at the Government House during a visit to the Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, the Senator commended the Governor also for qualitative and transparent leadership, which is aiding the Army in the discharge of their duties towards restoring peace to the State.
Senator Moro described Governor Zulum as an inspiration to the younger generation and that a few more of his type will take Nigeria to a higher level of development, stating that Governor Zulum’s second name is humility.
The Senator said that with the abundance of human and material resources, Nigeria has no business with epileptic electricity, poverty and infrastructure deficit.
Senator Moro enjoined Governor Zulum to continue in his exemplary transparent leadership, which is the only pathway to good governance that will take Nigeria out of the present quagmire in which we are.
He concluded that only the collaborative effort of government, the Armed forces and the community will bring to an early end the current security conundrum.
