The Nigeria Army said the troops of 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, have rescued two Corps members kidnapped by bandits in Yargoje community, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, made this heartening announcement in a statement released on Friday.
The abduction took place as the Corps members were traveling from Edo to Katsina State. Thanks to the swift and coordinated response of the military forces and the police, the victims were successfully liberated from their captors.
Brigadier General Nwachukwu emphasized that the rescued Corps members have received essential medical care and emotional support to ensure their physical and psychological well-being. They are presently under the care of the Nigeria Police in Kankara.
The military further solicited the cooperation and support of the public in providing timely and relevant information to enhance troops’ proactive operational engagement of criminal elements threatening the security of the nation.
