Nigerian Army rescue 10 kidnapped persons in Zamfara, Katsina, kill one bandit

The Nigerian Army has rescued 10 kidnapped persons in separate encounters in Zamfara and Katsina, and also killed one bandit in the process.

On December 31, troops on a routine patrol around Gidan Dan Nunu and Dutsi villages of Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State approached the bandits.

During the encounter, the gallant troops of Operation Hadarin Daji rescued seven kidnapped victims from the assailants.

Similarly on December 31, troops of Operating Base Dangulbi while on patrol arrested a certain Zayanu Abdullahi.

It was gathered that Abdullahi hails from Shinkafi district and has been involved in buying stolen cattle from bandits.

Also, troops rescued two women and a child kidnapped by bandits after credible intelligence revealed the assailants were operating in Kimbisawa village of Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The rescued victims have all been immediately reunited with their families.

The gallant troops, whilst on routine patrol along Batsari-Jibia road, engaged bandits in a gun duel and killed one while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
