Nigerian Army seizes truck loaded with adulterated diesel in Rivers

Operatives of 6 Division Garrison Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, made a significant seizure in Ahoada community, Ahoad-East local government area of Rivers State, confiscating a truck carrying eighty drums of adulterated Automotive Gas Oil (diesel).

Parading the exhibits at Port Harcourt Barracks, Brigadier General Eddie Effiong, Commander of 6 Division Garrison Nigerian Army and Commander of Sector 3 Operation Delta Safe, emphasized the military’s determination to combat illegal oil refining activities in Rivers State. The suspects abandoned the truck and its contents and fled into the bush upon sighting the officers.

Brigadier General Effiong condemned the negative impact of oil theft on the economy and issued a warning to those involved to desist from such activities or face consequences. He assured that the military would spare no effort in rooting out illegal bunkering in the region.

The seized product, totaling 16,000 liters, has an estimated current market value of about N14.4 million. The Nigerian Army will follow appropriate procedures in dealing with the confiscated products.
