Nigerian forward Gift Orban has set his sights on joining one of Europe’s major football clubs.
Having caught the attention of football enthusiasts with his outstanding performances at Belgian Pro League side KAA Gent last season, the 21-year-old striker has been on the rise since making the move from Norwegian second-division club, Staebek, in January.
Orban’s goal-scoring prowess was nothing short of remarkable, netting an impressive 15 times in just 16 appearances for the Buffalos.
The young talent wasted no time in marking his presence this season, opening his goal account for Gent during a thrilling UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Zilina on Thursday.
Now, with interest pouring in from several top European clubs, Orban has made his ambitions clear. He expressed a burning desire to take his skills to a higher-ranking league, eager to embrace the challenges and gain valuable experience at a more elevated level.
“Belgium has been great to me, but my heart is set on playing in one of the elite leagues. I want to challenge myself against the best and grow as a player,” Voetbalkrant quoted Orban as saying.
