Nigerian man, Emma Ezeuko tragically killed in South Africa

A Nigerian national, Emma Ezeuko, met a tragic end when suspected gunmen shot him dead on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, merely five days after celebrating his birthday. Emma Ezeuko hailed from Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and details are still sketchy at this time. However, it has been reported that on the same day in Port Shepstone, Durban, four passengers traveling in a taxi fell victim to gunmen’s deadly attack. The assailants approached the taxi and opened fire on the occupants, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. Additionally, four other passengers sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The motive behind the shooting remains unknown and is currently under investigation by the police. Detectives are looking into four counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder in connection with the tragic incident.

As of now, it has not been confirmed if Emma Ezeuko was among the four passengers who lost their lives during the shooting. Friends of the deceased have taken to social media, particularly Facebook, to mourn the untimely loss of their loved one. Among those grieving, Stephen Obinna Aneke expressed shock and disbelief over Emma Ezeuko’s sudden demise, recalling his recent birthday celebration and hopeful outlook on life.

In the wake of this senseless violence, friends and family bid farewell to Emma Ezeuko, cherishing the memories they shared and praying for justice for his untimely passing.
