  1. The Nigerian government, led by President Bola Tinubu, has suspended the initiative to sell subsidized 50kg bags of rice at ₦40,000 to civil servants. This decision follows the withdrawal of an internal circular by the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs.

  2. Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, disrupted an event in Abuja organized by Mela-Chiyoma Pat Limited, accusing the organizers of unauthorized use of the ministry’s name. The event, aimed at women and food security, was canceled following a directive from President Tinubu.

  3. Paul Ibe, Special Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has demanded an apology from the presidency for a misleading video posted by President Tinubu on social media. Ibe criticized the administration for misinformation and lack of credibility.

  4. The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied allegations of raiding the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) headquarters in Abuja. The NLC had claimed that documents were removed from their office during the alleged raid.

  5. The Federal Government has lifted the suspension on Arik Air’s operations, which had been grounded over a $2.5 million debt. The decision to resume operations came after the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority intervened.

  6. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has suspended former Governor Gabriel Suswam and several others for insubordination. The party also suspended local government chairmen for alleged misconduct and anti-party activities.

  7. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, APC National Chairman, has criticized Nigeria’s democratic institutions, including the judiciary and INEC, for being weak and in need of reform. He called for unity and support for the judiciary.

  8. PDP chieftain Dele Momodu has criticized President Tinubu’s aides for not being honest about Nigeria’s economic situation. He suggested that the administration’s inner circle is out of touch with the reality on the ground.

  9. The Nigeria Immigration Service has condemned an officer, Okpravero Ufuoma, caught on video begging for money from a passenger at the airport. Ufuoma has been suspended pending investigation.

  10. The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) condemned the alleged raid on the NLC headquarters and warned President Tinubu against using intimidation tactics. They called for respect for citizens’ rights and focus on addressing national issues.
