  1.  The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) will begin implementing President Tinubu’s directive for waiving taxes on food and drug imports within a week. The delay was due to finalizing details with the Ministry of Finance.

  2. Senator Shehu Sani claimed the violent protests in northern Nigeria were part of an attempt to overthrow President Tinubu, alleging that money and foreign flags were distributed to incite unrest.

  3. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo criticized President Tinubu’s approach to removing the fuel subsidy, arguing that it has caused more hardship and questioning the government’s commitment to fixing refineries.

  4. Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, condemned the display of foreign flags during protests, labeling it as treasonous and warning against accepting such flags from destabilizing agents.

  10. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) clarified that the recent blackout was caused by a tripped line, not a national grid collapse. Power supply has been restored following the resolution of the issue.
