Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom says with the failure of the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government in all sectors, Nigerians will prefer the return of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP at the centre come 2023.
Governor Ortom spoke today at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi during an expanded caucus meeting of the PDP.
He stated that the APC-led federal government has failed Nigerians in the areas of infrastructure, economy, security and fight against corruption, stressing that worst still, the President claims ignorance of whatever happens in the country.
Governor Ortom noted that it was baffling to see people defecting from other political parties to the APC when it is obvious that their interest as a people is not protected under the APC administration in the country.
He stated that Benue would continue to be a voice in the country especially now that sycophants and mediocres were all over the place working tirelessly to hoodwink the unsuspecting public.
The Governor urged council chairmen in the state to carry along all stakeholders in their localities and the party leadership in the course of governance, saying such would bring cohesion and confidence among party faithful.
State Chairman of the PDP, Sir John Ngbede, on behalf of the State Working Committee, expressed appreciation to the Governor and other major stakeholders for the confidence reposed in them by returning them unopposed for another term of four years.
He urged members of the National and State Assembly as well as council chairmen to ensure rubost relationship with the electorate and party faithful at the grassroots.
Former Senate President, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, Senator Abba Moro on behalf of National Assembly members from the state as well as Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Titus Uba, all decried the abysmal failure of the APC and pledged commitment to building a virile party preparatory to the 2023 general elections.
