Fuji music icon, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has openly expressed concerns about the current economic challenges facing Nigerians and urged President Bola Tinubu to address the issues promptly. In a video recording from one of his recent stage performances, K1 conveyed the frustrations and suffering of the masses, emphasizing that Nigerians are angry due to the poor state of the economy.
K1’s sentiments echo those of his daughter, Dami Ayinde, who, on Wednesday, also voiced her disappointment with the economic situation. She highlighted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had not fulfilled its promises, and the people are suffering.
In the video, K1, who has been known as a staunch supporter of President Tinubu, delivered his message in Yoruba, pleading with the President to find solutions to the challenges confronting the citizens. He specifically mentioned the hardships caused by the removal of fuel subsidies and the devaluation of the naira against the dollar.
The economic situation worsened after President Tinubu’s administration took office, with the removal of fuel subsidies leading to a significant increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). Additionally, the decision to float the naira has resulted in its continuous depreciation against the dollar, causing instability in the foreign exchange market.
K1 urged the President to address the issues promptly to prevent the opposition from exploiting the situation to criticize his administration. He empathized with the suffering of the masses, called for a quick resolution to the problems, and urged those profiting from the suffering of the people to be ashamed.
K1, who has previously sung praises for President Tinubu, emphasized the need for the government to listen to the complaints of the masses and address them seriously.
