Nigeria’s Flamingos clinch Women’s World Cup ticket

The Flamingos of Nigerian are through to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup following a nervy 0-0 draw against Ethiopia in Abuja on Saturday.

The Flamingos sailed through to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 1-0 on aggregate.

The two teams created clear cut goal scoring opportunities in the final round qualifying fixture, but were let down by their poor marksmanship.

The Flamingos later took control of the game, but were unable to find a way past the Ethiopian goalkeeper, who made a number of superb saves.

Taiwo Afolabi, Miracle Usani and Omowunmi Bello all spurned good chances for the Nigerian girls.
