Nigeria’s problems have no instant solution – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has underscored the complex nature of Nigeria’s ongoing challenges, emphasizing that quick fixes are not feasible, and urged the nation to endure the difficulties arising from the removal of petroleum subsidy. Speaking at the unveiling of the autobiography “Brutally Frank,” chronicling the life of former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Chief Edwin Clark, President Tinubu acknowledged the pains akin to childbirth that the country is currently experiencing but assured citizens that brighter days lie ahead.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, President Tinubu likened the current phase to the labor pains of childbirth, emphasizing that the eventual joy and merriment will follow the struggles. He expressed confidence in the effectiveness of the palliatives being introduced by the Federal Government to alleviate hardship and trauma.

The event marked the unveiling of a comprehensive 688-page autobiography that traces Chief Edwin Clark’s journey from a classroom teacher to a national activist over a span of seven decades. President Tinubu commended Chief Clark’s extraordinary contributions to Nigeria, referring to him as the “Iroko of South-South” and the “Eagle of Nigeria.”

Senator Akume shared President Tinubu’s sentiments, affirming that while the current period presents challenges, they are akin to the birth pangs of a new and better Nigeria. He drew parallels between childbirth and the nation’s present circumstances, highlighting the expectation of joy and celebration once the difficulties are overcome.
