Nine arrested as police uncover another baby factory in Ogun, rescue victims

‎Nine persons, including four women, have been arrested as the Ogun State Police Command uncovers another baby factory.

The police said they rescued four children from the alleged factory.

The command had on Tuesday said it uncovered a baby factory in Ofada, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state, where four pregnant girls and four kids were rescued.

The police, on Thursday, also said it had uncovered another baby factory on Lagos Street, Adesan in the Mowe area of the Obafemi-Owode LGA, allegedly owned by one Mrs Florence Ogbonna.

The state Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement said the second baby factory was owned by Ogbonna, who was arrested two years ago but admitted to bail for the same offence.

The PPRO said, “The discovery of the home followed a complaint from concerned residents of the area who informed the police at Mowe Division that a particular building located in their area is strongly suspected to be a baby making factory as most of the women seen there are always with pregnancy and whenever they delivered, they hardly see them with the babies.

“On the strength of the information, the DPO Mowe Division, SP Marvis Jayeola, led his men to the area where a man who is strongly suspected to be working for the operator of the home was arrested with four women and four children.”
