Nine Nollywood actors crushed to death by tanker in Benue

About nine upcoming movie stars were reportedly killed in an accident involving a tanker and a bus in Benue state.

The accident was said to have happened late hours of Thursday at Ikogwe along Katsina-Ala/Zaki Biam road, when the aspiring movie stars based in Zaki Biam were returning from film production in Katsina-Ala.

According to an eyewitness, the accident happened around 8 pm when the bus conveying the movie actors stopped at a police checkpoint.

The eyewitness said, “While they were waiting at the police checkpoint, a tanker which was coming on speed rammed into the bus and killed the young people.

The eyewitness added that remains of the accident victims have been deposited in an undisclosed hospital.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP, Catherine Anene, who confirmed the accident, said the command received a report of an accident that involved a tanker and a bus but said she did not have the number of casualties at heart. (Tribune Online)
