NLC, FCTA Demand Sack of πͺπΆπΈπ² as FCT Minister
Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), backed by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Monday staged a protest at the National Industrial Court in Abuja, as part of an ongoing total and indefinite strike over unresolved labour disputes.
The protest followed a directive from the NLC, which reaffirmed its support for the industrial action, describing the strike as justified in light of what it called persistent violations of workersβ rights by the FCTA management and political leadership.
Protesters carried placards with inscriptions including βWike Must Go!!β, βAbuja No Be Riversβ, βPay Promotion Arrearsβ, βEnough is Enoughβ, and βNo Working Toolsβ, highlighting grievances over unpaid promotions, poor working conditions, and alleged political interference.
The demonstration, which took place at the National Industrial Court premises, reflects growing frustration among FCTA staff over unresolved disputes and unaddressed administrative concerns.
Further details on the protest, including statements from NLC officials and FCTA management, are expected to follow.
