Popular Nigerian pastor, Abel Damina, has ignited a social media debate with his strong criticism of the Catholic Church.
In a viral statement, Damina accused the Catholic Church of discouraging its members from reading the Bible, claiming that the church seeks to prevent the exposure of its practices. He argued, “If the Catholic Church encouraged their members to read the Bible, nobody would be there now. They know that if people read the Bible carefully, all their practices would be exposed.”
Damina also rejected the Catholic doctrine of priests as “another Christ,” calling it misleading and unbiblical.
He explained, “Their priests are called ‘Another Christ,’ but when Jesus spoke of ‘another Christ’ arising, this is what he meant—’Altar Christos.'”
Damina condemned the Catholic teaching on the Eucharist, where the bread and wine are believed to transform into the body and blood of Christ during Mass. He described this as “another gospel,” asserting that it distorts Christ’s sacrifice.
“We have a lot of people to free from deception. If we don’t, they are on their way to hell,” Damina added, urging Christians to be cautious of the church’s teachings.
