Makurdi, Benue State – Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has announced that the reconciliation meeting convened by the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully alleviated internal anxieties within the party in the state. Speaking after the meeting held at the Benue State Government House in Makurdi on Tuesday, Governor Alia expressed satisfaction that the party’s leadership took the time to visit the state and restore peace.

According to Governor Alia, the outcome of the reconciliation meeting has effectively resolved all lingering issues within the party, putting to rest concerns that were hindering progress. He conveyed optimism about the positive impact the meeting would bring, particularly highlighting the collaboration between himself as the governor and Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), at the federal level.

“The meeting has resolved everything, putting to rest all the anxieties. The state can now look forward to the gains the meeting will bring, especially with me as the governor and the SGF, Senator George Akume, at the federal level,” Governor Alia stated.

Barrister Festus Fuanter, the Deputy National Secretary of the APC, led the reconciliation team from the National Secretariat. He emphasized that their presence in the state was aimed at ensuring the return of peace within the party. Fuanter described the meeting as part of a series organized by the National Working Committee across all zones in the country to address internal disputes and foster harmony.
