Pastor Simangele Rosemary Nomtandazo Odukoya of the Fountain of Life Church, Lagos has been laid to rest on Tuesday in Lagos.
Pastor Rosemary Simangele Nomthi Odukoya, the second wife of the General Overseer of The Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, died recently.
According to a publication by the church on its Instagram handle, the deceased battled cancer for two years before she died.
Pastor Taiwo posted on his Instagram handle that his late wife battled “cancer for the better part of two years”.
He also noted that she “stood on the Word of God, and she fought”.
“She gave me 11 beautiful years of marriage and two wonderful boys, who I know will be very significant in life. I loved her with all my heart, but who am I to fight with the will of God.
“The truth is, at one point in our lives, we all will have to say goodbye. So for now, till we meet again in glory, Goodbye Nomthi,” he had posted.
She was laid to rest in a private cemetery, in the presence of members of the family, clerics and friends.
The church service which was held at Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju kicked off around 11:30am and ended by 1:00pm, Sun reports.
Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo of KICC, who officiated during the church service described the late Rosemary as an outstanding woman, a prayerful wife, a person who smiles each time she sees you. A woman who carries her family wherever she goes to, in fact, she was like the Odukoya’s first wife.”
He urged Pastor Taiwo to console himself with the knowledge that she is in a better place.
He, however, urged him not to allow what happened to make him deviate from God’s way.
“God has called him to comfort the world, so how long will he continue to mourn, see your challenges as a master plan for your life. Because we see death as an entrance for the believers, just as the wife has entered another life and is happy where she is now,” Pastor Ashimolowo said.
