Non-career ambassadors: David Mark has no hand in Dr. Enyantu Ifenne’s replacement – Idomas

By Vera Enenche and James Ewaoche Amedu

Idomas, particularly social media users have exonerated immediate past senate president from the sudden removal of the name of Dr. Enyantu Ifenne as one of the persons nominated as non-career ambassador.

Following the development, many Idoma natives came hard on Mark, accusing him of championing the removal of Ifenne’s name.
However, findings by this reporter have shown that Mark has no hand in the development.
It was observed that Buhari decided to rejig the name following the protest by other indigenes over the list.
Reacting to the development, coordinator of Idoma Progressives Movement and top Idoma social media activist, Andrew Kaggwa Obeya warned some online journalist against nailing ‘innocent’ Mark.
He said, “David Mark has no hand in Dr. Enyantu’s replacement. APC in Benue did. Please let’s not accuse innocent people unnecessarily. Some bloggers are misleading people with faulty accounts.”
On his part, renowned historian and author, Nats Onoja Agbo said, “Senators do not nominate ambassadorial candidates. They screen them. If your party is in power, you could influence the nomination through lobbying. In this case, APC Governors, including that of Benue protested against the first list, which was why it was withdrawn. We should pray for the new nominee, another Benue indigene, to succeed. God alone gives power to whom he chooses.
Also reacting to the development, a former media aide to David Mark, Adakole Elijah said, “So DM was the cause of her problem? Those who nominated her ought to have done the necessary leg work for her. In any case, it is purely a party thing. Was DM consulted or contacted in this matter? This is purely an APC thing. And this is a sharp reminder that when the Federal University of Health Sciences was annulled and all and sundry kept quite except few like josephine, it was obvious that the worst was yet to be meted out on the Idoma by this clueless Anti peoples Congress (APC). Please, leave DM out of this ambassadorial brouhaha.”
Ace journalist, Yemi Sunday Itodo reacted thus: “The Senate didn’t reject Dr. Enyantu Ifene. It couldn’t have rejected her cos the Senate never invited any of the nominees for screening.
The list was rejected from the first day it was submitted, there was no single nominee from IMO state and FCT, whereas, States like Kano and Lagos had 3 slots, with Kaduna, Sokoto, Plataea and Rivers with 2 each.
“Also, about 3 nominees rejected their nomination, so the Senate asked Buhari to rework it and submit again.
That was where Ortom and other Tiv guys had their way into the Presidency and insisted Ifene’s name must be submitted with that of Ugbah.
“And we people like Benson Abounu, Audu OGBEH, James Okefe, Abba Yaro and other Idoma leaders in the APC that were just watching movies while the intrigues and scheming lasted.
