In a show of solidarity and support, North Central governors on Thursday paid a visit to the newly appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
The visit was aimed at congratulating him on his recent appointment and fostering a harmonious working relationship between the governors and the SGF.
Among the dignitaries present were Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, and Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State.
These governors represent different states in the North Central region and were keen to extend their warm wishes to Senator Akume.
The governors expressed their delight at Akume’s appointment as the SGF, acknowledging his wealth of experience and leadership qualities. They lauded his dedication to public service and his commitment to the development and progress of the North Central region.
During the visit, the governors engaged in fruitful discussions with Senator Akume, focusing on strategies to enhance collaboration and cooperation between the federal government and the North Central states. They explored various avenues for partnership and expressed their willingness to work closely with the SGF to address pressing issues and drive growth in their respective states.
Senator Akume, in his response, expressed gratitude for the visit and the warm reception from the North Central governors.
