Not for love: Jaruma reveals reason she got married

Controversial self-proclaimed sex therapist Hauwa Mohammed, better known as Jaruma, recently explained her decision to marry.

Jaruma got married to Ross Fahad Isabor in 2018, and they divorced in 2021. The couple was blessed with a child during their time together.

In an interview with the “Issues and Society” podcast, Jaruma explained that she married in response to the intense backlash she faced from the northern community for selling aphrodisiacs as a single woman.

“There was massive criticism from the north because I was selling sex products as a single lady. They wondered why people allowed a single lady to teach them what happens in the bedroom for lots of money.

“It wasn’t easy at all. The sex industry is a multi-billion industry, I have made N760 million in 3 years. So I thought the industry would not die and I have a booming business so I can’t just leave because of the heat I was going through.

“I thought, if marriage is the solution, then I’ll go for it. I didn’t marry for love; I got married just a month after meeting my ex-husband to escape the pressure I was facing from the north.”

“He was aware that my decision wasn’t based on love, but rather on the pressure I was under, because I informed him.”

It’s worth noting that in 2022, Ross Fahad Isabor publicly urged Jaruma to stop using his name to promote her “fake products.”
