Mohammed Babaganaru has been officially introduced as the new head coach of Gombe United, a Nigeria Professional Football League club.
This seasoned tactician is stepping into the role previously held by Aliyu Zubair, who parted ways with the club at the conclusion of the last season.
Babaganaru’s most recent coaching assignment was with Lobi Stars during the 2023/24 season. Unfortunately, his contract with the Makurdi club was not renewed following their underwhelming performance in the NPFL Championship Playoff.
Given his wealth of experience, Babaganaru’s arrival is expected to be of great significance to Gombe United, especially considering their narrow escape from relegation in the previous season.
Notably, Babaganaru has previously managed other Nigerian clubs, including Kano Pillars, Wikki Tourists, and Nasarawa United.
Gombe United’s first match of the season will see them facing Sporting Lagos.
