NPLF: Akase institutes Lobi Stars Man Of The Match Award

Former Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Mr Terver Akase has instituted an award for the best player at the home matches of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi.

Presenting the award at the Aper Aku Stadium during the encounter between Lobi Stars and Kano Pillars Football Club on Sunday, April 10, 2022, Mr Akase stated that the initiative was his own modest way of encouraging the players to showcase their best performance on the pitch.

He pledged to sustain the award during every home game of Lobi Stars, pointing out that the gesture would serve as a morale booster.

Mr Akase who is an immediate past Peoples Democratic Party, PDP 2023 governorship aspirant in the State, hinted his plans to collaborate with the management of Lobi Stars FC to raise an active supporters club that would promote the Club’s brand.

He expressed confidence in the Dominic Iorfa led management of the club, expressing optimism that the former Nigerian Professional League title winners would return to winning ways.

Lobi Stars Goalkeeper, Emeka Onyia who emerged recipient of the “Terver Akase Award for the Man of the Match”, appreciated the sponsor saying he is spurred to always give his best to the club.

The game ended in a goalless draw between the two sides with fans expressing mixed reactions that Lobi Stars missed good chances to win the match.
