Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie showcased her skills with an extraordinary goal, salvaging a 1-1 draw for Houston Dash against Kansas City Current in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) on Saturday night.
This remarkable goal marks Alozie’s second of the season, achieved through 13 appearances for Houston Dash.
Kansas City Current took the lead in the 51st minute, but Alozie’s contribution on the 67th-minute mark evened the scoreline.
Demonstrating her prowess, the 26-year-old outpaced a Kansas City Current defender, charged towards the goal, and executed a stunning volley using the outer part of her foot. The ball gracefully found the far corner of the net from the edge of the box.
Houston Dash currently occupies the ninth spot on the league table with 20 points in the 12-team competition.
Alozie left a lasting impression as one of the standout performers for the Super Falcons in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand. Her participation in all four of the team’s matches during the tournament contributed to their advancement to the round of 16.
