The death has been announced of elder statesman and philanthropist, Dr. Isaac Ada Oblu Ella.
A statement by his family and obtained by IDOMA VOICE shows that Dr. Ella passed on to glory in his country home of Otukpo in Benue state on Saturday, February 11, 2017 after a brief illness at the age of 81.
A peep into the word of the deceased show that the late Dr. Ella was born on January 10 1936 to the family of PA David Ella and MA Ekinyi Ella in Otukpo-Icho village, Otukpo LGA of Benue State.
He had a diploma in Education from college of education Dundee Scotland, a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin USA, a Masters Degree and Doctorate degree in philosophy of Education from the prestigious university of Nigeria Nsukka.
The late Dr. Ella joined the Benue Civil Service early and worked in various capacities rising to the rank of Chief inspector.
He was pioneer provost of School Of Basic Studies then in Ugbokolo and was also the pioneer provost of the Advance College of Education, Oju all in Benue state.
Dr. Ella was instrumental to many developmental projects in Otukpo; amongst which is the Electrification of Otukpo-Icho village and its environs amongst many others.
According to the burial arrangements released by his family, a service of songs would hold in his honour on April 27 at his residence at 26 Igede street Otukpo.
Wake keep would be held in his honour at Ella’s compound in Otukpo-Icho, Otukpo on 28 April 2017.
His body would be committed to the mother earth on April 30 shortly after funeral service at Norcross Methodist Cathedral, Otukpo.
The deceased left to mourn him his wife Mrs Janet Oli Ella, six children and eight grandchildren.
