In a renewed effort to alleviate the longstanding plight of motorists and commuters, the president of Ochacho Foundation, Mohammed Odeh Adah, has once again initiated the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Otukpo Township Road.
IDOMA TV reports that the federal road, which passes through the heart of Otukpo town, has been a persistent nightmare for residents due by its deplorable condition.
The dualization project for the eight killometre Otukpo Township road had been awarded to Rockbridge Construction Company over a decade ago, but progress has been non-existent.
The contractors abandoned the project, leaving residents of the ancient city to contend with muddy conditions during the rainy season and swirling red dust during Harmattan.
Expressing concern over the continuous neglect of the gateway road, Ochacho Foundation took the initiative earlier this year to commence rehabilitation efforts.
However, these initial efforts were halted by the federal Ministry of Works.
Undeterred by the setback, Ochacho Foundation has once again taken up the mantle to make the road motorable for motorists and commuters.
