Oche assures of food security as Ekpe Ogbu donates to Ado communities

Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government, Hon. James Oche has promised to utilize the tractors provided by Governor Samuel Ortom to his council to venture intensively in farming at the Local Government farm settlements.

Hon. Oche who made the promise at Ado Local Government Secretariat Igumale, during the donation of food and non-food items by the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Chief Ekpe Ogbu to people of the local government said the farm settlements are located at Apa Agila, Utonkon and Ulayi districts.

The Ado Council Chairman popularly referred to as “Capacity” vowed to reclaim government land encroached upon by individuals to enable the council apply same for the intended purpose and also warned those in unlawful possession of Local Government property to do themselves good by returning them, emphasizing that his administration would go after them should they fail comply.

He explained that the decision to reclaim Local Government property was necessary to ensure that subsequent administrations inherit government property and they were put to good use for the benefit of the people adding the those who cultivated food crops would be given the grace to harvest them while economic tress would not be spared.

Hon. Oche also commended Governor Ortom for the donation of three truck loads of food items for his people , saying they were judiciously distributed to the intended beneficiaries under his supervision and other stakeholders.

The Ado Council boss said criminality which was prevalent in the area has been subdued to deliberate policy of government with the support and cooperation of the people, traditional rulers and security agencies and sued for its sustenance for development of the Local Government.

He equally called on other sons and daughters of the Local Government to emulate the kind gesture of Chief Ogbu who provided the items out of his pocket stressing that those who abandoned the people at trying times would also be rejected when they come seeking for votes.
