Ochetoha K’Idoma youth wing raises alarm over rising insecurity in Otukpo
The youth wing of Ochetoha K’Idoma, the apex socio-cultural group of the Idoma people, has raised a grave concern over the worsening insecurity in Otukpo, Benue State, where suspected herdsmen continue their deadly attacks. T
These violent incidents have led to kidnappings, killings, and the forced displacement of residents, leaving the people of Otukpo in deep distress.
Comrade Magaji Mike Alidu, the President of the Ochetohakidoma Youth Wing Worldwide, has urgently appealed to Governor Hyacinth Alia, Deputy Governor Samuel Odeh, and other relevant authorities to act swiftly to protect the lives of Otukpo residents.
“We can’t take it anymore. Our people are living in constant fear, and we’re losing hope. Every night brings new terror. Please, we need help now,” Alidu said in a passionate appeal.
The recent surge in violence has intensified fears among residents, many of whom have fled their homes in a desperate bid to escape the attacks. The community is now in critical need of government intervention, as the frequency of kidnappings and murders continues to rise.
