The paramount ruler of Idoma land, His Royal Majesty, Agabaidu Elaigwu John Odogbo, has called on those who still hold grievances over his emergence as the Och’Idoma to embrace dialogue and unity in the interest of the kingdom.

Speaking at the Idoma Royal Banquet held in Abuja, the monarch extended an olive branch to all, urging them to lay aside differences and work together for the progress of Idoma land.

“To those who harbor reservations about my emergence as king, I say this, as has always been done by rulers before me, that I speak as both a father and servant of this kingdom,” he said.

“The palace is open to all. Come, let us reason together. Passion on social media will not strengthen our kingdom, but engagement will. The throne is a symbol of unity, not a tool for division.”

Agabaidu Elaigwu decried the growing trend of attacking newly crowned monarchs on social media, saying such acts weaken the traditional institution.

“The narrative of attacking any newly emerged king must come to an end. My beloved sons and daughters, our kingdom cannot progress if we remain divided by grievances and accusations,” he said.

The Och’Idoma urged all Idoma sons and daughters to forgive one another and focus on rebuilding unity and progress.

“The time has come to put behind us the mistakes of yesterday. Let us forgive one another. Let us heal. Let us forge ahead with one heart and one vision — as one people, in one kingdom, sharing one destiny.”
