The people of Agatu from all walks of life on Friday, 8th February, 2022 converged in their numbers at the People’s House Makurdi to thank the Executive Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom for the numerous things he has done for them.

Speaking while responding to the messages of appreciation by the august visitors, Gov Ortom thanked them for coming, saying his inveterate love towards the people was due to the challenges confronting the people of the local government similar to his own local council of Guma and the unalloyed support for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and his administration.

He assured the people of more developmental projects even as he ordered the contractor handling the Obagaji-Okokolo-Agagbe road to speed up the work for its final completion before the end of his administration.

Earlier in his speech, the leader of the delegation, the political leader of Agatu and State Chairman of PDP, Sir John Ngbede in a very strong term, thanked Ortom for giving special priority to the people of Agatu, promising to reciprocate his kind gestures by the people.
The Och’Idoma V, HRM Agaba’Idu John Elaigwu Odogbo in his speech, thanked God for his emergence as the fifth Paramount Ruler of the Idoma kingdom, promising that Idoma land would witness peace, unity and rapid development under his reign.
He appreciated Gov Ortom for his quality leadership, wishing him all the best in the remaining part of his administration.

Also speaking, Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon Michael Inalegwu appreciated Gov Ortom for giving Agatu sons and daughters several appointments, insisting on justice and fairness, leading to the emergence of a son of Agatu as the 5th Och’Idoma, completing the Oshigbudu-Obagaji road, praying for quick completion of the Obagaji-Okokolo-Agagbe road which would contribute to the reduction of insecurity in the area.

In his vote of thanks, member representing Agatu State Constituency, Hon Godwin Abu Edoh said, no word would be enough to completely show the magnitude of the happiness of Agatu people for what the governor has done for them, saying the only way they could reciprocate such benevolence would be their continuous support for his administration and PDP.
