Ogbadibo LG chairman, Hon. Prince Onuh condemns killing, abduction of Otukpa residents

The honourable caretaker committee Chairman of Ogbadibo local government council, Hon Prince Samuel Odoh Onuh has expressed bitterness over the kidnap and associated death of four young men in a bid to rescue the victim.

Miss Mercy Anoyi Gabriel, a graduate and business young lady in Obu Otukpa was kidnapped last night by unknown gun men from her Telecom business center at Ankpa junction, and zoomed off with her towards Ankpa, Kogi State. Touched by the ugly incident, four able bodied young men went after the kidnappers with a bike in an attempt to rescue Anoyi known to be a hardworking lady in Obu Otukpa, but unfortunately, they were knocked down by another vehicle and died on the spot.

In a statement today, the Chairman laments the entire incidence, and specifically commiserate with the families of the four men who lost their lives in the process, and pray God to grant their souls eternal rest. He hailed their gallantry, for trying to be true brothers to Anoyi but became casualties in the process.

He therefore charged the police and relevant security agencies in Otukpa, Benue State and neighbouring Kogi State, to swing into aggressive investigation towards the recovery of the kidnap victim, and to be more vigilant in order to avert the reoccurrence of such unpleasant incidence.
